Responding to Child Abuse in our Communities

On Friday, October 25, 2013 the Northwestern Children's Advocacy Center hosted a medical conference for prosecutors, law enforcement officials, health professionals, and social workers. Experts in their fields, Dr. Alice Newton, Dr. Christine Barron, Dr. Stephen Boos, Dr. Stephanie Block, ADA Sylvia Rudman, and Dr. James Chu, presented on topics including: abusive head trauma, child sexual and physical abuse, child abuse mimics, dynamics of disclosure, and testifying as an expert witness. An enormous and heartfelt thank you to the presenters for sharing their time and crucial information, and to all of those who helped make the first of many Symposiums on Child Abuse possible!
